Adjusting the Front Suspension Fork on Your Perraro Electric Bike or Trike
The suspension fork of your electric bike or trike is designed to be adjustable to suit different terrains and accommodate your weight. This adjustment impacts how your bike handles, particularly when navigating bumps and during braking. In certain scenarios, you might find it beneficial to have the suspension locked for a fully rigid experience. Your suspension fork features a lockout function, making it rigid, and the tension can be fine-tuned to your preference. To adjust the suspension fork, use the blue knob. The opposite black knob does not serve any functional purpose. To completely lock the suspension, turn the blue knob clockwise towards the “lock” direction as indicated until it stops moving. For increased stiffness, continue turning the blue knob clockwise towards the “lock” indicator. Conversely, to soften the suspension, turn the knob counterclockwise towards the “open” indicator.

Learn moreRecommended Tire Pressure for Your Electric Bike or Trike
The optimal tire pressure for your electric bike or trike depends on the specific tire model you have. You can find the recommended pressure range printed on the sidewalls of the tires. For regular street riding aiming for comfort, inflating the tires a few PSI below their maximum is advisable. However, be aware that riding with lower pressures, especially over bumps, can increase the risk of pinch flats. Please note that the tires on your bike or trike will not be fully inflated upon delivery. Before inflating, always ensure that the tire and tire bead are correctly seated just inside the rim. For Different Terrains: Snow: Lower tire pressure is beneficial in snowy conditions. It increases the tire's surface area, providing better traction. Consider reducing the pressure by 5-10 PSI below the normal recommended level. Sand: Similar to snow, lower pressure in sandy conditions helps with traction. However, avoid going too low as it can strain the tire and rim. A reduction of 5-10 PSI below the standard recommendation should suffice. Rough Terrain: For trails or rough terrain, a slightly lower pressure can provide better grip and a smoother ride. Adjust according to the roughness of the terrain, but always stay within the safe range specified on the tire. Remember, tire pressure can greatly affect your ride's comfort, efficiency, and safety. It's essential to adjust it based on your riding conditions and personal preference. Key Points and Steps from the User Manual for All Bikes and Trikes Unboxing: Congratulations on your new Perraro electric bike or trike! It comes fully assembled in the box. Inside, you'll find your electric bike or trike, a charger, keys, and a digital user manual. Before unpacking, ensure all these items are present. If anything is missing or damaged, contact Perraro immediately for assistance. Shipping can be rough, so your bike or trike may need some adjustments when unboxed. We suggest having these initial adjustments and inspections done by a professional, certified bicycle mechanic. To set up, unfold your bike or trike and insert the handlebars or seat post, depending on the model. For detailed guidance, refer to the 'Unboxing' section in the user manual. Inspection: Check the tire and tire bead position inside the rim. Inflate the tires within the recommended pressure range indicated on the sidewalls. Inflate gradually and ensure the tire bead is seated correctly. Inspect the seat post clamp and handlebar stem quick releases, adjusting them to the torque values listed in the user manual. Make sure the seat post and handlebar stem are inserted past their minimum insertion points to avoid undue stress and potential failure. Double-check that the frame folding latch and handlebar folding latch are locked securely. Turning the Bike On: Charge your battery fully before your first ride. If the battery isn't already in place, secure it in the frame or mount and lock it. Insert the key into the battery port and turn it to the ON position. Press and hold the power button on the left handlebar until the display comes on. Operating Your Bike or Trike: Choose your pedal assist level using the plus and minus buttons. Level 0 provides no assistance, while level 5 offers the highest. The right handlebar has a half-twist throttle. Gradually twist it for desired speed and acceleration, being careful not to activate it unintentionally at a stop. To turn on the headlight and tail light, press and hold the plus button. The battery must be installed for the headlight to function. You’re all set for your ride! Enjoy and stay safe!
